Event Space For 5 to 200 People
Located in the former Knights of Columbus building at 987 Mentor Ave. in Painesville—right next to Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes—Events on the Avenue offers a convenient and accessible venue, just off the State Route 2 and State Route 44 interchange. The space features two distinct levels to suit gatherings of all sizes. For more intimate events, the cozy, game room-style lower level includes its own bar and relaxed atmosphere. The main level comfortably accommodates up to 150 guests, making it ideal for larger gatherings. For even more flexibility, both floors can be used together, giving guests plenty of space to enjoy themselves. Restrooms are available on each level for added convenience.
Kitchen Space
At this time, the kitchen at the facility is not available for cooking. However, we are actively working with the county health department to plan and develop a kitchen that will enhance our event offerings and better serve the needs of our guests in the years to come.
Upstairs Bar Area
The main floor rental currently includes access to an upstairs service bar area, which can be used for setting up a buffet or serving beverages. This space features a bar-height refrigerator and an ice machine for your convenience. If you plan to serve alcohol during your event, please note that additional fees may apply, and a police presence may be required. For full details and requirements, feel free to contact us directly.
Parking
Events on the Avenue offers off-street parking for up to 47 vehicles on-site. Additionally, the neighboring Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes—connected by a shared driveway—provides parking for 58 more vehicles. Combined, the two lots offer convenient parking for over 100 cars.
Event Pricing
Current pricing is as follows:
$250 Security Deposit & Cleaning Deposit due upon signing of rental agreement
- (If an event is canceled within 3 weeks of the scheduled event, this will be forfeited)
The use of the facility is billed at $90 per occupied hour (Monday thru Thursday) and $115 per occupied hour (Friday thru Sunday) including setup and cleanup time -Setup & Cleanup time are included as rental time as the building will not be able to be rented to another client during this time
- The estimate for the rental will be due upon receiving the keys to the facility, usually the day prior to the event.
- Any additional fees will come out of the security deposit
- Additional security deposit may be required in certain circumstances
This includes:
- 16 x 8' rectangular tables
- 115 black, padded banquet chairs
- Access to ice machine
- Ample power outlets
- 2 restrooms on the upper level
- Coat room and bar area
Lower level additional rental includes: $800 additional for use of lower level bar area & game room ($200 is a refundable security deposit)
- 2 additional restrooms

- 85" wall mounted TV
- 54" TV above bar
- Popcorn machine (additional charges apply)
Additional Offerings:
- $350 for LED TV use on main level (Refundable $200 Security Deposit Included)
- $100 additional fee for alcohol consumption on premise -this is not a permit fee so there will be no alcohol sales at this time.
- $150/ hour for in house DJ services available with a 3 hour minimum
- $300 for in house lighting setup for dance floor
Why is there a security deposit?
- Unfortunately, occurrences have happened where care was not taken and the building was abused. This is the only way to fairly accommodate continued rentals.
What constitutes non refund of the security deposit?
- Breakage of any furnishings or physical part of building
- Non-compliance with the cleaning required following an event
- Excessive damage to carpets or tile flooring requiring a professional cleaning company to be called in
Contract Signing Due at contract signing is a $250 to hold the date. If the event is canceled less than 3 weeks prior to the date of the event, the security deposit will be forfeited
BOTTOM LINE- If the full contracted security deposit and rental fee is not paid in full by the time of the initial walk through and key exchange, the rental is canceled and the security deposit will not be returned.
Planned Upgrades
Completed late 2022- Remodeling of the female restroom to allow for an ADA accessible restroom
Winter 2023-Planned upgrade and remodel of main floor men's restroom
Summer 2025- Applying for a full liquor license
Spring 2024- Install ADA lift from parking lot to main floor level
Spring 2026- Complete kitchen remodel to allow for on site catering
