Virginia M. Pitorak (nee: Reed), age 88 of Montville, passed away at Heather Hill Care Communities on March 6, 2018. Born January 20, 1930 in Munson Twp. to Alvie and Goldie (nee: Apperson) Reed, she had been a lifelong Montville area resident. Virginia was a Chardon High School Graduate Class of 1948 and worked at Snap Out Forms in Chardon. In 1957, Virginia Married Nicholas Pitorak, with whom she had three children: Karen, Nancy and Nick. She was a longtime member of the former Montville United Methodist Church. She worked with Nick on the family farm. Virginia lived to help others. She was an active helper with Breeders and Feeders 4-H club. She enjoyed watching the steer show at The Great Geauga County Fair. Virginia and her sister-in-law June started the refreshment table at the Geauga County Junior Fair Livestock Sale. She loved her family, friends and neighbors. Virginia enjoyed cooking, gardening, going out to eat and grocery shopping on Thursdays in Chardon. Her love, jokes, fried chicken & smile will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children Karen (Jim) Teichman of Munson Twp., Nancy (Richard) Ivans of Chester Twp and Nick (Lorri) Huntsburg; grandchildren: Ann (Robert) Guy, Rich Ivans, Ryan Ivans, Jim (Becky) Teichman, Tracey Teichman, Ashley Pitorak & Katie Pitorak; siblings Ken Reed of Geneva and Grace Beranek of Chardon; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas “Nick” in 2010 and siblings Alvie, Jim, Russell and Vernon, Gladys Brown, Marie Carney and Mable Bagley. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Russell-Sly Funeral Home 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, OH 44062 with interment at Middlefield Cemetery to follow.
