Vernon Burr, born on August 17, 1936, in North Manchester, Indiana, passed away on March 17, 2025, in Madison. He was the beloved son of Kenneth and Grace Pauline (nee: Stage) Burr. Vernon dedicated his professional life to the automotive industry, working at Diamond-Reo Trucks, White Trucks and General Motors as an Automotive Designer. His contributions to the field were significant and left a lasting impact on the industry. Vernon's family was the centerpiece of his life. He is survived by his son Scott (Theresa) Burr of Madison, daughters Gerri (Robert) Cambell of Mishawaka, Indiana, Pixie Burr of Kentucky, and Lanna Roberts of Columbus. He was also a cherished stepfather to Scott Turbin of Lansing, Michigan, Robin (Jerry) Jupin of Dimondale, Michigan and Lisa (Chris) Rule of Gowen, Michigan. Vernon was a proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. His love and devotion to his family were evident to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wives Patricia Burr and Sandra Burr, his parents, Kenneth and Grace Pauline Burr, his brother Kenneth W. Burr, and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Despite these losses, Vernon's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the countless memories he created with his family and friends.
