Raymond Streiner, age 97 of Wickliffe, OH passed away June 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born December 12, 1925, in Cleveland to August “Gus” and Rose (nee: Leonardic) Streiner, he had been a lifelong area resident. In his early years, he proudly served in the US Navy as an enlistee during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed dancing and listening to polka as well as the nickel slots at the casinos. Ray attended all his grandchildren’s sporting and school events, standing and cheering no matter the weather. Along with his daughter Mitzi, he enjoyed taking the grandchildren to Geauga Lake and Cedar Point to ride the roller coasters; he was a genuine thrill seeker. Throughout his life, Ray’s infectious smile would instantly light up the room and bring joy to all. He was unconditionally devoted to his wife and daughter who cared for him throughout his last years. Survivors include his wife of 74 years Mary “Mitch” (nee: Kavas) Streiner of Wickliffe; daughter Mitzi (Pat) Taddeo-Vlach of Concord; grandchildren Christine (Brett) Weidig of Chardon and John (Shelley Brown) Taddeo of Broadview Hts; great-grandchildren Brooke & Benjamin Weidig of Chardon; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Mary Streiner; siblings Henry, Stanley & Victoria Streiner and Rosemary Furst. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Ss. Robert & William Catholic Parish, 367 E. 260th Street, Euclid, OH with burial to follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp. A visitation will be from 5-8pm on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Monreal-Srnick Funeral Home 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, OH 44095.
