Ralph George Davis Jr., age 78 of Painesville, OH passed away unexpectedly Dec. 26, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living of Wickliffe. Born Jan. 30, 1945, in Denver, CO to Ralph G. and Jeanette (nee: Locke) Davis Sr, he had been a longtime Lake County area resident. Ralph proudly served with the US Army from 1965-1968. He retired from the Perry Nuclear Power plant after a long career as Control Room Assistant. He was a longtime member of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Fairport Harbor, OH.
He was married to his late wife Eleanor in 1977 until her passing in 2016. When the two of them were not traveling to their latest adventure spot, you could always find them on the dance floor, especially if polka music was playing. Those that knew them were very familiar with their infectious, high-pitched laughter. Rumor has it, Ralph’s laugh was once heard from two states over. Always the life of the party, it was impossible to be in a bad mood if Ralph was around. Ralph loved Cleveland sports, travel, the ocean, and in his younger years was often found on the golf course. Ralph truly loved life and took advantage of all it had to offer. He never missed an opportunity to express the love he had for those around him, and everyone that knew him loved him right back. Above all else, nothing could top the love he had for Eleanor, his boys, and his granddaughter Avery.
Survivors include his sons Kris and Brian (Sara) Davis of Willowick; granddaughter Avery Davis; stepson Richard Feirstine of Painesville; siblings Stuart (Mary) Davis of Cleveland Hts. and Pamela (Terry) Cooper of Ely, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eleanor (nee: Stensland) and daughter Allison Phelps. A funeral service will be at 12pm on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at the Hungarian Reformed Church 601 Plum Street, Fairport Harbor, OH. Visitation will be from 9:30am to 11:30am on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at the Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes 1009 Mentor Ave, Painesville, OH. A private family burial will take place.
