Mary Jane Stark, a beloved matriarch known for her kindness and welcoming spirit, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Chardon, Ohio. She was born on March 28, 1932, in Cleveland. Mary Jane lived a life rich with love, laughter, and family, devoting herself to the nurturing of her seven children whom she raised with unwavering strength and boundless affection.
Mary Jane, whose maiden name was Miller, was affectionate and quick to offer warmth to those around her. With an education that reached the 8th grade, her wisdom went far beyond academics; it thrived in her moments of caring guidance and support for her family. She was a proud homemaker and an embodiment of dedication, ensuring her home was a place of comfort and happiness.
Mary Jane is survived by her loving daughters, Sandra (John) Powell of Elkhart, TX, Barbara (Daniel) Sipan of Englewood, FL, and Victoria (Sam) DeJesus of Orwell, OH. Her legacy continues through her sons, Nicholas (Debbie) Sparks of Lakewood, OH, and David Sparks of Chardon. The love she shared has blos-somed into a beautiful family tree, now adorned with 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren who cherish the memories they created together.
She rejoined her husband, Joseph Stark Jr., along with her son, Michael Sparks, and daughter, Mary Jane Sparks, who predeceased her. She is also reunited with her siblings: Russ, Tim, and Tommy Miller, and Lois Smith—each of whom held a special place in her heart.
A graveside service to honor Mary Jane's memory will be held on June 25, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland, Ohio.
As we bid farewell to this gentle soul, we remember the warmth of her smile, the comfort of her embrace, and the love she freely gave. Mary Jane Stark will forev-er be remembered as a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, whose spirit will continue to shine brightly within the hearts of those she touched.
