Mary Lou Higgins {Davis} age 78 of Madison passed away following a long illness Nov. 29 at her home, surrounded by family. She was resolved to survive until Thanksgiving with her family present, and she made it. Born Aug. 31, 1946 In Painesville to James and Mary Jane {Booth) Davis, she was a lifelong resident of Madison. Mary Lou married David Higgins on June 15, 1968, in Geneva. She was a nurse at Broadfield Manor in Madison. During her time at Crossroads Church in Madison, she worked both as a hospitality volunteer and in the children's Sunday School care areas. Mary Lou loved children and is fondly remembered by those she served. Survivors include her husband David; son David W. Higgins of Geneva; daughter Dawn Marie [Steve} Olson of Cleveland; siblings Gary Davis of Madison and Steve {Virgie) Davis of Geneva; sister in law Sally Davis of Madison and extended family. She was preceeded in death by her parents and brother Jimmy Davis. Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Burial will take place Wednesday, Dec 11 at noon at Arcola Cemetery in Madison in a private family gravesite service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in her name to a cancer research charity of your choice, or to the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
