Maria de Jesus Novak, of Painesville, Ohio, peacefully entered into eternal rest at the age of 83, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, devotion, and unwavering strength.
Born on February 4, 1943, in Tampico, Mexico, Maria began a life journey marked by courage, perseverance, and deep compassion for others. In 1960, she came to the United States, where she built a life rooted in family, faith, and opportunity. Maria married Pero Novak, and together they created a home filled with love, resilience, and enduring values.
As a Naturalized United States Citizen, Maria was profoundly proud to be an American. She cherished the opportunities this country afforded her and embraced her citizenship with heartfelt gratitude and patriotism.
Maria was a devoted mother and loving matriarch who is survived by her beloved children: Rose Hanzlik, Anne Novak, Kelly Dureiko, and Peter Novak. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Adam, Amanda, Andrew, Austin, James, Lyndsey, and Taylor, each of whom brought tremendous joy to her life.
Above all else, Maria’s life was anchored in her faith. A devoted servant of the Lord, she passionately shared the Gospel with family, friends, and members of her community. Her steadfast love for God inspired her lifelong ministry to countless people, touching multitudes through encouragement, prayer, and spiritual guidance. Maria’s faith also inspired her writings, through which she thoughtfully shared messages of grace, faith, hope, and love.
Maria will be remembered for her generous spirit, deep compassion, unwavering faith, and her ability to inspire others through both word and example. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved, those she ministered to, and all who were blessed by her wisdom and kindness.
Though deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she has entered into the presence of the Lord she faithfully served throughout her life.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
