Kirsti Kaarina Kallinki, age 91, of Fairport Harbor, OH, passed away April 14, 2022, surrounded by family. Born May 7, 1930, in Perho, Finland to Yrjo and Tekla (nee: Heitaniemi) Karvonen, she had been a longtime resident of Fairport Harbor after immigrating to the US in 1958. Kirsti retired from Avery Dennison. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor where she was actively involved in the church choir, a prayer shawl group and many others. She enjoyed crocheting and was known for her nisu. Survivors include her daughters Anneli (Mark) Kish, Aulikki Dieglio & Anita DiDomenico; grandchildren Lisa Starkey, Kristin (Shawn Colonna) DiDomenico & Brian (Carly) Kish; great-grandchildren Trenton (Sierra Lehman) Starkey, Brenna (Ryan Thomas) Starkey, Corbin Todd, Mark, Colin & Chase Kish; siblings Eugen, Matti, Lilja, Anne Liisa, Maria Leena & Erkki, all of Finland; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Matti; siblings Kyllikki & Lauri; son-in-law Nicholas Dieglio. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church, 508 Eagle Street, Fairport Harbor, OH with Pastor Frederick Johnsen officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at the church and again from 10-11am on Wednesday April 20, 2022, at the church. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Donations are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church of Fairport Harbor or Hospice of the Western Reservice.
