June Laverne Hakli

June Laverne Hakli, 88, of Painesville, passed away on November 17, 2015 at Harbor Care in Fairport Harbor. She was born in Painesville on May 9, 1927. Mrs. Hakli was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor, where she taught Sunday School and attended Bible Study. She belonged to the Finnish Heritage Museum, Fairport Lighthouse Society, Fairport Historical Society, Fairport Senior Center and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and crafts. June had worked as a Clerk for the Juvenile Justice Center in Painesville and for Mackey's Market in Fairport. Survivors are her daughter, Diana R. Hogya of Mentor On The Lake, son, Kenneth L. Hakli of Arizona, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Thomas Hakli, brother Marvin Snell and parents, Ralph and Hilda Snell. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, 504 Eagle Street, Fairport Harbor, where friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to Zion Lutheran Church. The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of Harbor Care and to Grace Hospice for their loving care. A Special Thanks to her Nurse Sara.
