Jonathan F. Randolph

Jonathan "Jon" F. Randolph, 88, of Kirkland, Washington passed away on August 30, 2026 in Tyler, Texas. He was born August 31, 1937 to parents Stanley and Marguerite Randolph of Kennewick, Washington. Jon graduated from Kennewick Senior High School in 1955, and Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington in 1966.

Jon was honorably discharged and retired in 1977 following four years of service in the United States Navy and seventeen years of service in the United States Air Force. Life was an adventure for Jon; he took care of military personnel in surgery, the deceased in a plane crash, the personnel at a remote base, and so much more. He spent time in England; and while he was in the U.S. Navy, he served as a combat corpsman with the U.S. Marine Corps. Jon volunteered to help active duty and retired military personnel, along with their families, at the USO SeaTac International Airport in Seattle Washington. While serving in the U.S. Air Force at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois, during the Tet invasion of Vietnam, he helped a new ENT surgeon restore many casualties' hearing loss, restored many ruptured eardrums, and assisted in air evacuations to the U.S. Air Force Hospital in Chanute.

While serving in the U.S. Air Force, Jon finished his college education; he spent his nights and time off taking classes. His senior year, they gave Jon leave of absence to complete his college education on campus. Upon his graduation, he had to reenlist for four more years.

Upon Jon's discharge from military service, he used the military skill he gained to bring his surgical assistant knowledge to operating room nurses and technologists at Evergreen Medical Center in Kirkland, Washington, where he served as a certified surgical technologist for twenty years. He also helped compile required registration of surgical technologists in the state of Washington, which was signed by Governor Locke.

After the passing of Jon's first wife, Jane, in 1986 and his son, William, in 1987, Jon continued to provide and care for his daughter, Pamela and son, Michael. He then married Elaine Fisher Randolph in 2006, who—along with the Holy Eucharist—he loves dearly and forever.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Randolph; mother, Marguerite Randolph; wife, Jane Randolph; and son, William Randolph.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Fisher Randolph; son, Michael Randolph; daughter, Pamela Frank, her husband Jim, and their three children; stepson David Fisher, his wife Pia, and their two children Kaelee and Sarah; stepson Tom Fisher and his wife Jean; and great-grandson Troy Gooden.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 14, 2026 at St. Mary Catholic Parish, 401 North St., Chardon, OH 44024 with Fr. Scott Goodfellow celebrating Mass.

Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Rd., Chardon, OH 44024.
