James P. Brady passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on November 11, 1951, in Willoughby, Ohio, Jim lived a remarkable life that spanned continents and touched countless hearts.
A graduate of The Ohio State University, Jim earned his bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, reflecting his lifelong fascination with cars and airplanes. His dedication and determination led him to earn his pilot’s license, beginning a career that combined passion with excellence. Over the course of more than 15,000 flight hours, Jim served as a pilot and Chief Pilot/Aviation Manager for both Fortune 500 companies and entrepreneurial firms. Rated in seven different corporate jet models, he flew to six continents and more than 75 countries. With a perfect safety record and the prestigious Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) designation from the National Business Aviation Association, Jim’s career was marked not only by skill but by devotion and professionalism.
Beyond his aviation achievements, Jim was above all a devoted husband and father. His daughters, Erin Brady and Samantha (Brady) Puterbaugh, remember his humor, kindness, and presence—whether in bedtime stories, late-night chats, or steady encouragement through life’s challenges. Jim was always there for his children in whatever way he could be, often dropping everything to support them. He never missed a chance to show up for concerts, to drive to ice skating practices, or to make sure they got to the many music lessons that shaped their lives—moments that meant as much to him as they did to his daughters. He made many personal sacrifices to provide for and support his family, always putting their needs before his own. He had a gift for putting people at ease and was always ready with support, laughter, or a helping hand.
His engaging personality, extensive knowledge, and practical skills made him a trusted friend and an invaluable resource to many. Always handy, Jim could fix nearly anything, from cars to household projects. His infectious laugh and positive spirit brightened even the darkest days.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne (née Canitia) Brady, with whom he shared a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories. He was preceded in death by his parents, John P. and Louise (née Kruger) Brady, who surely take pride in the compassionate and accomplished man he became.
On October 1, 2025, a private visitation will be held at St. Mary Parish in Chardon, Ohio, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial and interment. Later that day, the family welcomes friends and loved ones to an open house celebration of life in the banquet hall at St. Mary’s Church in Chardon, Ohio, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM—a time to share memories and honor Jim together.
Jim’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His love, laughter, and spirit will continue to guide and inspire us always.
