Helen Seufer

Helen Seufer, guided by her deep Catholic faith, passed peacefully into eternal love on October 3rd at Mapleview Country Villa in Chardon, Ohio.

Born and raised on Pineway Trials farm near Chardon, Helen remained deeply rooted in the community she called home throughout her life. Those roots shaped a life centered on faith, hard work, and caring for others.

Helen was a cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her family was blessed to share many wonderful years with her and to create countless treasured memories together. She shared 69 beautiful years of marriage with the love of her life, Kenneth, building a loving home and family.

Helen devoted 49 years of service to St. Mary Chardon, first as a librarian and later in office administration. Her many years there reflected not only her dedication to her work, but also her love for the faith community that was such an important part of her life.

She found joy in camping, bowling, playing card games, catching the biggest fish, going on cruises with friends, her daily phone calls to her dearest friends, and enjoying Friday margaritas around the campfire. She loved romance novels and scratch-off lottery tickets, but some of her greatest joys came simply from being with her family. She loved cooking and making holidays special, creating traditions and memories her family will carry forward.

Birthdays were especially important to Helen. She made a point of celebrating everyone's birthday with a song, either in person or over the phone. She had a wonderful way of making each person feel remembered, special, and deeply loved.

Helen is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Seufer Sr.; her brother, Paul Young (Kay); and her children:

  • Son- Kenneth Seufer Jr. (Kay), with grandsons Matthew and Ryan, Thomas Menard, and Jacob and Hayden Mowery; granddaughters Kimberly (Richard) Browne, Amanda (Billy) Humphreys, and Robyn Westphal; nine great-grandchildren, Harper, Abby, Kayleigh, Braxton, Bella, Payge, Collin, Avery, and Izzy; and one great-great-granddaughter, Charlie.
  • Daughter- Ann Maniscalco, with grandson Jonathan (Katrina) Hart; granddaughters Krystal (Kyle) Michalik and Annalise Maniscalco; and great-grandchildren Elijah and Evelynn.
  • Son- Mark (Dianna) Seufer, with granddaughters Olivia (Trenton) Threadgill and Megan (Collin) Moran; and great-grandchildren Jack, Sophia, Savannah, and Isla.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews who cherished her.

Helen's legacy will live on in the family she treasured, the traditions she created, the birthdays and holidays she made so meaningful, and the countless lives she touched throughout her long and beautiful life.

"A life well lived leaves love in every heart it touched."
