George Theiss, age 92, Of Madison passed away at his home on February 20, 2018 after a brief illness. He was born in Cleveland on February 22, 1925 to Millie and John Theiss. George was a veteran of the US Navy having served in World War II. He was on duty abroad the Battleship Missouri when Japan signed the Peace Treaty for World War II. He was a member of the American Legion 601 and 112 in Madison. His Hobbies were stamp collecting, coin collecting and fishing.
He was a retired machinist for Cerro Copper in Cleveland.
Survivors are his daughters Kim Overberger and Vicky Christopher both of Madison, Sharon and Kathy Theiss ; Son John Theiss. Stepsons Mike and Carl Luebking.
He also leaves his close friend Frank Krnach.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth who died in 2017 and a son Frank Theiss.
Services are private and arrangements are being made by the Potti Funeral Home in Madison.
