George C. Nemeth

George C. Nemeth, 91, of Perry, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. George was born on September 12, 1934, and was a lifelong resident of Perry. He began working at Ohio Rubber at the age of 16, later leaving to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force, before returning to Ohio Rubber to complete his career. Music was one of his greatest joys, and he took pride in playing in his polka band. On April 22, 1977, he married the love of his life, Margaret. Together, they shared many wonderful years filled with laughter, love, and unwavering devotion. George was preceded in death by his parents, Catheryne and George Nemeth. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Nemeth; his stepchildren, whom he loved as his own, Tom Sopczak, Debra Thoreson, and Cindy (Tom) Frasier; his cherished grandchildren, Lance (Kori) Jaworski, Jesse Sopczak, Keith (Priyana) Thurman, and Amanda (Mike) McKrill; and his adored seven great grandchildren. George found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, working in his yard, listening to music, watching sports, and making his daily trips to local convenience and grocery stores, where he enjoyed trying his luck with the Ohio Lottery. He was a natural storyteller who could light up any room, always ready with a joke or a memory that brought laughter to those around him. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
