Eddy Jose Maria, 46, of Mentor, OH passed away on September 11th, 2021 following a work-related accident. Eddy, better known as “Coco” to his family and friends, was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic on October 21st, 1974, to Menocal and Francisca Maria. As a child, he moved to Queens, New York, a community he fully embraced and was loved in. From there, he moved to Staten Island, NY, before settling down in Mentor, Ohio. Eddy was a kind, friendly, funny, and larger than life figure to anyone he met. He loved his family more than anything else and would always put them before himself. He had a passion for weightlifting, music, football, but above all, it was the New York Mets he adored. Eddy is survived by his wife, Eva Maria, his sons Marcos and Noel, his mother Francisca Maria, and siblings Jose Maria, Raul Maria, Naty Maria, Carmen Maria, Steven Duran, Kethy Maria & Esteban Maria. A funeral service will be at 4:30 pm on Saturday September 25th at the Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes of Painesville, 1009 Mentor Ave, Painesville, OH.
