Brian James Morgret

Oct. 21, 1966 – Aug. 12, 2026

He loved the beauty of the Father's vistas, from the forested mountains of the Appalachian range, to the beautiful, rocky faces of the Chocolate Mountains.

Brian James Morgret, age 59, passed away August 12, 2026, at his residence in Claridon. He was born Oct. 21, 1966, in Chardon, to James Morgret and Irena (Jackson) Morgret.

A graduate of Berkshire High School in 1985 and Kent State University Geauga, Brian worked for many years in the computer industry. He enjoyed working with computers, but his faith was of utmost importance to him. He served in a variety of volunteer roles at the churches he attended through the years, including teaching Sunday School, leading worship, playing his trumpet as part of a worship team, and serving as dean at Blue Rock Christian Camp. He decided to study ministry and attended Northeast Ohio Bible College. After graduating in 2008, he continued to serve in both paid and volunteer roles, focusing on Bible teaching, preaching, and home Bible studies.

Brian enjoyed hiking. He loved the beauty of the Father's vistas, from the forested mountains of the Appalachian range, to the beautiful, rocky faces of the Chocolate Mountains. He loved music, regardless of genre: from the symphonies of classical music to the folksy sound of bluegrass, from the smooth tones of jazz to the driving beats of pop and rock. It was the art that mattered far more than instrument or eloquence. And if one was willing, he would readily dive into discussions on many topics ranging from how our scientific and technological advancements affect what the future may bring, how the past has made us what we are, and all manner of philosophy and theology.

He devoted most of his life to improving the lives of those around him. It was through his efforts that many of the programs his friends enjoy are what they are today. His impact was seen not through one large act of great importance, but through numerous small deeds, each improving the lives of those around him and leaving a legacy that will continue for many years to come.

His impact was seen not through one large act of great importance, but through numerous small deeds.
