Viola M. Pohto age 88, of Fairport Harbor met her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2015 She was born the daughter of the late Helvi (Somppi) and Johan A. Makitalo On May 10, 1927 in Fairport Harbor. Viola was the owner of Violas Beauty Salon in Fairport For many years. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor, Coordinated the first Antique Appraisal Tea, Served on the Alter Guild, was a homework helper and a member of the Mary-Martha Circle. Viola enjoyed many years of selling antiques with her husband Robert at Aurora Farms and Pymatuning flea markets, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post7754. Viola was very proud of her Finnish Heritage and also belonged to the Finnish Heritage Museum. She is survived by her loving grandchildren Jessica Lynn Pohto of Chicago, Illinois and Eric Robert Pohto of Denver, Colorado, Great Grandson Caleb, Brother Reverend Pentti Maki Of Mansfield and Sister Kaisa Liisa (William) Gurish of Painesville, and her companion Maggie Who she loved to walk every day. Preceded in death by husband Robert, Son Fred Pohto and daughter -in-law Linda Pohto, and brother Johannes A. Makitalo. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 Monday December 7, 2015 at the Zion Lutheran Church 508 Eagle Street Fairport Harbor, Ohio Visitation for friends and family will be Sunday 6-9 PM and 1 hour prior to the funeral at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Family suggest donations may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church.
