Richard Tamburo passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 13, 2020 at Cardinal Woods in Madison. Born June 17, 1943 in Cleveland to John Tamburo Sr and Carmella Minello, he had been a lifelong Thompson resident. Rich graduated from Thompson High School in 1961. He was a foreman for ODOT in Montville, after which he left to become an Independent Truck Driver for over 40 years, retiring in 2012. Rich loved the outdoors, fishing, his cars and antique tractors but his greatest love was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Patricia (nee: Evans) Tamburo of Thompson; children: Sharon (Al) Luning of Leroy, Richard (Paulette)Tamburo of Madison, and Anthony (Farrow) Tamburo of Madison; grandchildren: Chris (Kendra) Sweeney, Ashley (Jake) Barnard, Britney (Will) Hodel and Elizabeth (Austin) Tamburo; great grandchildren: Jace, Carson, Luna, Oliver, Phoebe and Kenzie. He was preceded in death by his father; brother John Tamburo Jr.; sisters Jeanette Pfouts and Mary Ann Tamburo. A private family burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson with a celebration of life to follow at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes.
