Matti J. Kallinki age 86, of Fairport Harbor passed away Tuesday November 19, 2013 At his home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. Born July 5, 1927 in Ullava, Finland. Mr. Kallinki was employed by SAS Rubber For 34 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church In Fairport Harbor where he served as an usher during the Finnish Services, A member of the Men's Sauna Club, an avid bowler and loved woodworking. Survivors include his Beloved wife of 60 years Kirsti (Karvonen), Daughters Anneli (Mark) Kish, Auikki (Nicholas) Dieglio, Anita Didomenico, Grandchildren Lisa Starkey, Kristin Didomenico and Brian Kish. Great Grandchildren Trenton and Brenna Starkey, Corbin Todd, Mark, Collin and Chase Kish. Siblings Aili (Ahti) Toyraskoski of Ullava, Finland, Hilja (Kauno) Kallio of Fairport Harbor, Jukka (Elsa) Kallinki of Jyvaskyla, Finland, Half Brothers Pauli (Norma) Lahti of Fairport Harbor, Alpo Lahti of Sweden, Paavo (Irja) Lahti of Sweden, Lisa (Veikko) Hautamaki of Sweden, Matti was preceded in death by his Parents Matti and Helmi Kallinki, half-brother Veikko Lahti. Many Nieces and Nephews. Family will receive friends 5-8 PM Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church 508 Eagle Street Fairport Harbor. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday at the Church with Visitation one hour prior to the funeral service. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made To the Zion Lutheran Church or to the Hospice of the Western Reserve. Potti Funeral Home 538 Fifth Street Fairport Harbor is handling the arrangements.
