John E. (Jack) Quinn was born September 11, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and passed into eternity on March 24, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility in Ormond Beach, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Hakojarvi Quinn, Parents Edward and Mary Quinn, Brothers Charles and Bro. Paul, and Sister Mary Harvey. He is survived by his Nephew Mark Quinn (wife Lisa) of West Chester, Ohio, and great Nephews Mason and Jensen, Niece Karen Harvey, Nephew Kevin (wife Elizabeth), Nephew Tim (wife Trish), Nephew David (wife Linda), Niece Monica Culoso (husband Michael) and great Niece, Ava Culoso, and many other Nieces and Nephews.
Jack was married to Arlene Hakojarvi Quinn on July 27, 1968. Jack began a teaching career before enlisting in the United States Army July 25, 1952. He served 3 years active service and was released from active duty on July 24, 1955. He attended Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA) and University of Dayton (Dayton, Ohio). Jack spent his entire working career as an educator in the Cleveland School System and was very active in the Ohio Teachers Union.
Jack and his wife Arlene enjoyed traveling and boasted that they walked 98% of the Civil War Battlefields. He and Arlene were members of Forest Hill Church Presbyterian, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
Jack and Arlene’s ashes will be interred at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland Heights on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are made with Potti Funeral Home, Painesville. Pastor John Lentz of Forest Hill Church Presbyterian will officiate.
