Elbert F. Stivers, age 88, of Madison passed away April 5, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born November 2, 1926 in Lexington, Kentucky to Anna Myrtle (Cann) and Clarence Stivers. Elbert was a security guard for Euclid Inc. in Cleveland for 37 years retiring in 1984. After retirement Elbert was a locksmith. He was WWII Veteran of the US Marine Corp., a life member of the VFW 8548 , American Legion Post 112 , Grand River Lodge #57 all of Madison. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Betty Stivers, Daughters Sharon Williams, Dorothy (Jim) Barbina, And Betty Stivers all of Madison. Adopted children Larry (Sandy) Hanson of Madison Grandchildren Lynda Barbina of Madison, James (Linda)Barbina of Unionville Jason (Natalie) Hanson of Saybrook , Michelle Hanson of Madison. Great Grandchildren Kalee, Garrett, Michael, Rachel, David, Sam, Hannah, Daniel Barbina, Makenzie West Dylan Scott. Brother Clifford (Patsy) Stivers of Dry Ridge Kentucky and a host of Nieces and Nephew and Cousins. Preceded in death by Son Elbert (Rusty) Stivers, Parents, Brothers Forrest, Edward, Bobby and George Stivers Sisters Catherine Dunn and Anna Margret Jones. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Potti Funeral Home 2726 Hubbard Rd Madison, Ohio 44057 Funeral Services are at 11:00 AM Thursday April 9, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Madison Memorial Cemetery on Arcola Road.
