Alex Horvath Jr.

Alex Horvath age 92 passed away on Oct. 2, 2021 with his Son Joseph by his side. Alex was born on Jan. 11, 1929 in Fairport Harbor to Alex and Elizabeth (Kovach) Horvath. Alex served in The US Army Artillery Battalion during the Korean war. Upon arriving home he owned and operated Horvath nursery. He was a longtime resident of Perry, OH. He married Velma "Val" (Dumond) Horvath and raised 1 Son and 2 stepdaughters. Alex was a faithful Christian and a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Alex loved to golf with his wife Val and after he retired worked for Erie shores golf course mowing the lawns. He loved watching the Indians, Browns, game shows, and horse racing. He also loved scratching lottery tickets. Alex is survived by his Son Joseph (Dawn) Horvath grandson Alex. Sister Elizabeth Hartman, nieces Cindy (Tom) Sivitski, Mary (Chuck) Benns. Niece Susie (Horvath) Petrowski, Stepdaughters Karyn (Ed) Chapman, Christine (Scott) Pollock, grandchildren Jake (Alexandra) Pollock Beth (Nick) Holder, Erin (Steve) Loyka. He was preceded in death by his parents, His wife Val, brother Louis (Annabelle) Horvath, and nephew Michael Horvath. Funeral services will be at 11am on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church 3050 McMackin Rd, Madison OH with burial to follow at Perry cemetery. A visitation will be from 10am until the time of the service at the church. Donations are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Potti & Marc F.
