Arlene Hakojarvi Quinn was born on May 25, 1929 in Fairport Harbor, Ohio and passed into eternity on Oct. 31, 2015 at Florida Hospital in Ormond Beach, Florida
She was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Selma Hakojarvi, Brothers Arland and Alvar (David) Hakojarvi, Sister Dr. Aili Hakojarvi and Niece Darlene Hakojarvi. She is survived by her nephew David P. Hakojarvi of Port Orange, Florida (wife Jean) and Niece Carole Hakojarvi McBride of Zephyrhills, Florida, Cousins in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, Ann Hakojarvi Bartoli (husband Dan), George Hakojarvi (wife Freida), Eva Hakojarvi and several Nieces, Nephews and great Nieces and Nephews.
Arlene graduated from Harding High School in Fairport, Ohio, in 1947 and Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio, in 1951, and Columbia University, NY, 1962. Arlene taught Home Economics for all her working life at Eastlake, Ohio and the Cleveland Heights, Ohio School system where she was an active member of the NEOTA (North East Ohio Teacher's Association).
As a child and young adult, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor, Ohio, where she played the piano and sang in the choir. She was married to John E. (Jack) Quinn on July 27, 1968. For many years, she and her husband Jack were members of Forest Hill Church Presbyterian, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
Arlene and Jack's ashes will be interred at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland Heights on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are made with Potti Funeral Home, Painesville. Pastor John Lentz of Forest Hill Church Presbyterian will officiate.
