Wally Monahan, age 81, of Madison passed away January 19, 2014. Born July 26, 1932 in Pittsburg. Wally is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Christel Monahan, and his children Carolyn (Bill) Rigo, Joe (Debbie) Monahan, Marney (Ed) Gorman, Cassie (Frank) Fatica, Trixie (John) Cleminshaw, Raquel (Rich) Russell and numerous grandchildren that he loved. Wally was preceded in death by his brother Bill Monahan of Pittsburgh, Son -in-law Ed Gorman and granddaughter Brynn Monahan. Wally was a world class hurdler for the University of Pittsburgh where he held the record in the 120 yard high hurdles for over 25 years. He also had the world's fastest time for that event in 1954. Wally was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. He spent his professional career selling Caterpillar tractors Throughout Lake and Ashtabula Counties. Services for Wally will be held at his parish, Immaculate Conception Church 2846 Hubbard Rd Madison on Friday January 24, 2014 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lucy and Quinn Trust, C/O Jerry Kysela at 1660 West Second Street Suite 650, Cleveland, Ohio 44113. Arrangements are by the Potti Funeral Home in Madison, Ohio
