Mary S. Streiner

Mary “Mitch” S. (nee: Kavas) Streiner, age 95, of Wickliffe, OH passed away October 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born October 17, 1929, in Cleveland to Anton and Theresa (nee: Rozsman) Kavas, she had been a lifelong area resident. She enjoyed polka music and was willing to dance for as long as her feet could carry her. Mary was known to frequent Las Vegas with her husband, Ray. They would play slot machines (with 3-year-old Christine on her lap) and communicate with each other utilizing hand held radios, always wanting to check in on one another. She happened to win several jackpots along the way as well. Mary loved playing games and was always up for a good laugh and always willing to crack wise. Her truest loves in life were Jesus, prayer, and her family, especially her devoted daughter and caregiver, Mitzi. Mary amassed a large collection of rosaries in her lifetime, and one was never far from her grasp. She prayed for the best to be granted to her family and friends on a daily basis. Survivors include her daughter Mitzi (Pat) Taddeo-Vlach of Concord; grandchildren Christine (Brett) Weidig of Chardon and John (Shelley) Taddeo of Broadview Hts; great-grandchildren Brooke & Benjamin Weidig of Chardon; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; daughter Mary “Mitzi I” Streiner; siblings Therese Kavas and Ethel Monachino. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Ss. Robert & William Catholic Parish, 367 E. 260th Street, Euclid, OH with burial to follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp. A visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Monreal-Srnick Funeral Home 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, OH 44095.
