The world bids farewell to a remarkable soul, Elias Vorvolakos who transitioned from this life on November 19th, 2023 at the age of 83. Born on May 22nd, 1940 in Marathea, Greece, Elias Vorvolakos faced adversity early in life surviving during the turmoil of and World War II and Greek Civil War. Courageously stepping into the role of responsibility, he became a pillar of support for his family that included his mother(Evanthia) and two young sisters(Fotini & Maria). Elias would later join the Hellenic Army, where he served as a radio operator. After his service he became a Merchant Marine, and journeyed extensively around the world. Seeking new opportunities and carrying dreams of a brighter future he came to New York City, where he met his wife Nancy and worked to create a life of prosperity starting his own business as a painter and contractor. Above all else Elias loved his family and valued spending time with them. In his spare time Elias enjoyed singing to Greek music, cooking, playing cards and tending to his thriving garden. He was also an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting for wild birds and fishing. Elias is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Camacho) Vorvolakos of over 45 years, daughter Eva Maria, son Vasilios (Alexandra) and his grandchildren.
